

John V. Wood has been around
broadcasting and journalism for
over 20 years - from writing for
his high school yearbook to directing
the entire news operation for a major
market radio station in Durham, NC.
He has written for numerous
newspapers over his career, and works
primarily now in the magazine arena.
He has also authored several pieces
of poetry.
An avid photographer, Wood also finds time to use his camera to
compliment his written works. He also spent two years as a news
photojournalist for KHQ-TV Channel 6 in Spokane, WA. While living in
Atlanta GA, Wood also directed five short films, including one film
awarded an Excellence in Photography Award (Gadget Addict), and
one that helped a high school senior receive a college scholarship to
the Art Institute of Atlanta (Money, Bag, Now). He also has been the
assistant director for two short films, helping out Rob Underhill with
Wake Drama.
Since moving back home to North Carolina, Wood has joined the
Triangle Area Freelancers, led by writing veteran Donald Vaughan
(www.donaldvaughan.com).
Wood lives in Willow Spring, NC with his wife Cinnamon, stepson
Dillon, stepdaughter Katherine Skye, and a barnyard full of animals.
